Curtain Call at the Seaview Hotel by Glenda Young

4th August 2022

Curtain Call at the Seaview Hotel is the second in the series starring hotel landlady and amateur sleuth Helen Dexter. You can still read it as a stand alone book, however. This cosy crime is set again in Scarborough and stars an acting troupe who arrive to rehearse a play they hope will save a much-loved theatre. However, the leading lady is a diva, the playwright is highly strung and tensions in the troupe are high. Then one of the actors is found dead on the beach.   You can watch a teaser video here!

Glenda was one of six authors shortlisted in the Dead Good Reader Awards 2022, in the ‘New Kid on the Block’ category for books in a series with less than 3 books published so far. She was up against Richard Osman and Val McDermid at this year’s Theaskstons Old Peculiar Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate. The award went to Richard Osman, who cemented his position as Nicest Person in the World by opening a tab a the bar for festival goers to enjoy. Glenda hopes that at next year’s festival, the drinks will be on her!
