The return of National Crime Reading Month
National Crime Writing Month is a UK wide annual reading festival promoting the crime genre.
It is a major initiative, coordinated by the CWA, a non-profit group dedicated to the promotion of the genre and to support professional writers, and the Crime Readers’ Association with the help of volunteers and in partnership with many organisations in the UK.
Every year libraries, bookstores and literary venues across the country work with authors and members of the CWA to put on a programme of talks, book displays, book signings and events giving readers the opportunity to explore the latest and best crime writing, as well as to discover (or rediscover) many classic writers.
National Crime Writing Month 2015 is the biggest ever, with over 100 events taking place at venues across the UK.
We are also delighted that you are able to take part in National Crime Writing Month virtually on our website with daily blog posts, provided by members of the CWA, as well as daily giveaways. Yes that is 30 fabulous giveaways!
Of course all of this is finished off with the CWA Dagger Awards dinner which will see the presentation of dagger awards including the Debut, Non-Fiction, Dagger in the Library, International, Short Story, Endeavour Historical Dagger and the Diamond Dagger, which this year will be award toCatherine Aird. We will also be announcing the longlists for the Gold, Steel and John Creasey Daggers.
