Barry Forshaw is the UK’s leading expert on crime fiction. His books include Nordic Noir, British Crime Film and Death in a Cold Climate. Other work: British Gothic Cinema, Euro Noir, the HRF Keating Award-winning British Crime Writing, The Rough Guide to Crime Fiction and Italian Cinema. He writes for various newspapers and edits Crime Time.

Zoë Sharp wrote her first novel when she was fifteen, and created the no-nonsense Charlie Fox after receiving death-threat letters as a photojournalist. Her work has been nominated for the Edgar, Anthony, Barry, Benjamin Franklin, and Macavity Awards in the United States, as well as twice for the CWA Short Story Dagger. Sharp blogs regularly on her own website, www.ZoeSharp.com, and is a new recruit to the acclaimed group blog, MurderIsEverywhere, as well as making occasional contributions to The Hardboiled Collective. She also witters on Twitter (@AuthorZoeSharp) and fools around on Facebook, mainly posting silly jokes and forgetting to plug her own work.

Belinda Bauer was raised in England and South Africa. She came to books via journalism and screenwriting and her first novel, Blacklands was shortlisted for the CWA Debut Dagger and, a year later, won the CWA Gold Dagger. Since then she has published three more novels and won the CWA Dagger in the Library. Her latest, Rubbernecker, was shortlisted for the 2013 CWA Goldsboro Gold Dagger. Belinda is inspired by people, movies and three-minute pop songs. Her ambition is to win the Nobel Prize for Physics.

David Stuart Davies is an expert on Sherlock Holmes and has written two film books, two plays and seven novels featuring the character. His latest novel, Sherlock Holmes & The Devil’s Promise comes out next year from Titan. However, he has also created his own private detective, Johnny Hawke, who appears in six novels set in WWII. His latest thriller, Brothers in Blood, (Mystery Press, 2013) is set in his home town of Huddersfield. David has edited Red Herrings, the CWA’s monthly magazine, for fourteen years and is general editor for Wordsworth’s Mystery & Supernatural series.
