CWA Daggers on the BBC – and YouTube
The CWA Daggers were recently featured on BBC Look North, focused on CWA John Creasey (New Blood) Dagger winner Trevor Wood and his work at The People’s Kitchen in Newcastle, inspiration for his debut novel The Man on the Street.
We have featured Trevor’s BBC showcase on our very own CWA YouTube channel. If you’ve had your fill of your usual TV fayre, why not check out some videos about and by your favourite crime writers.
Highlights include former Diamond Dagger winner Anne Cleeves in conversation with current Diamond Dagger winner Martin Edwards, as well as a series of short home videos by CWA member authors about what books they read as children or young people, that have influenced them in their crime writing career. Crime Writers’ Early Influences includes offerings from, among others, Margaret Murphy, Martin Edwards, Fiona Veitch Smith, Bill Rogers and Sheila Lowe. Some of their stories are touching, sad and inspirational; other charming and entertaining. And as a special treat, they’ve included a photograph of their younger selves!
