An environmental campaigner disappears on the eve of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
The only witness, Jimmy, a homeless veteran grappling with PTSD, doesn’t want to get involved. It’s not his fight. Maybe it was just another of his vivid nightmares. And anyway, trouble has a habit of finding him without him looking for it.
Then a newspaper headline catches his eye: GIRL IN MISSING DAD PLEA and he recognises the missing father. The girl, Carrie, reminds him of someone he lost and he knows it’s time to stop hiding from the mistakes of his past.
But Jimmy’s not the most reliable witness and he has an unfortunate history with the police. Not surprisingly, they don’t believe his story.
With no one else she can turn to, Jimmy agrees to help Carrie find out what happened to her dad, putting himself at risk from enemies, both old and new.
But Jimmy has one big advantage; when you’ve got nothing, you’ve got nothing to lose.
