Marrisse Whittaker has been creating characters for all of her working life, first as a TV and Film Make-Up Artist, next as a TV drama Scriptwriter and then as owner of Orion TV, creating factual programmes for major broadcasters in the UK and abroad.
Creating a scene took on a new meaning for Marrisse after being runner-up to The Lindisfarne Prize for Debut Crime Fiction in 2020, with her first novel in the Billie Wilde series, The Magpie, published in May 2021 by Bloodhound Books. In November of 2021 her second crime thriller, The Devil’s Line was published, followed by the Mad Hatter Murders in February 2022. The first in a Billie Wilde spin-off series, Buried Dreams, was published in January 2023 with Marrisse’s latest thriller, Backstabber, due for publication in July 2024.
