Like so many others, I took up writing as a hobby many years ago. Working as an osteopath was very fulfilling, but not creative. I can’t sing, I can’t draw, and I’m woeful at guitar. But I found I could write. An actress patient of mine challenged me to do better, when I complained there was “nothing on the telly.” I made an attempt and she actually liked it, sending it to a producer she knew. He agreed, but suggested a creative writing course would help. I took many of them over the years, including an MA in Creative and Critical writing at Sussex University in 2012. The fulfilment of creating fictional worlds is awesome.
