McCracken Poston, Jr is a criminal defense lawyer and former Georgia state legislator in Ringgold, Georgia. His debut nonfiction book, Zenith Man: Death, Love, and Redemption in a Georgia Courtroom (Citadel, Hardcover, February, 2024), details the story of the author/lawyer, after a failed bid for the U.S. Congress, and his representation of Alvin “Zenith Man” Ridley, an undiagnosed autistic failed TV repairman who was accused of keeping his wife captive in their basement for three decades, then killing her.
Poston went on from this case to a distinguished career as a criminal defense lawyer, with cases featured on original national and internationally syndicated television’s “Forensic Files,” A&E’s “American Justice,” “American Monster, “Dateline NBC,” and “CNN Presents.”
Poston still practices law in Ringgold, Georgia.
