Maureen Myant is a former psychologist who is now a full time crime writer. A graduate of the University of Glasgow’s masters degree in Creative Writing she went on to study for a PhD. Her first published book was historical fiction. The Search is a novel about the aftermath of the destruction of the Czech village of Lidice in 1942. It was longlisted for the Waverton First Book award in 2011 and chosen as one of the books for reading in the Chambery Festival du premier roman 2012.

The first in her crime series set in Glasgow’s southside was published in 2022 by Hobeck Books. Now called The Confession, it had been shortlisted for the CWA debut dagger in 2001. She has since published two more in the series and is working on a fourth. A standalone domestic suspense novel What Lies Beneath will be published in November 2024.
