Kate Morgan

Kate Morgan qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and worked as a senior in-house lawyer in the water industry, specialising in environmental and regulatory law. She has also lectured in law at undergraduate and post-graduate level. Kate’s first non-fiction book, Murder: The Biography (‘Fascinating’ – Sunday Times; ‘A fascinating new history of homicide’ – Daily Mail) was published by HarperCollins in 2021. The book traces the history of the law of murder in the UK, told through the cases that have changed and shaped it down the centuries. Her writing has also appeared in legal journals and the Slightly Foxed quarterly.
Kate is currently working on her next book and can be found on Instagram @kateclmorgan. She lives in the Midlands with her husband and a tiny dachshund named Peanut.
