Former, and still occasional, stand-up comedian is the author of two crime series. The Times’ best-selling cosy crime Follet Valley Mysteries, which began in 2021 with Death and Croissants (June 2024 – Death in Le Jardin), and the classic european critically acclaimed procedural The Man Who Didn’t Burn (October 2023).
He spends most of the time at home in France with his family and livestock, and where he also runs a Writers’ Retreat in the bucolic and inspirational Loire Valley (www.lapausevaldeloire.com).
Ian makes a mean chutney, overdresses for every occasion and takes himself less seriously since he stepped back from comedy.
