Dr Grace McClurg
Sub-genre: Humour, Legal, mystery, psychological
No doubt related to growing up in Belfast during the 1970’s, I have been fascinated by crime for as long as I can remember. Indeed, this fascination guided my career path and I have been a Chartered Forensic (and Chartered Counselling Psychologist) for the past thirty years. I worked, as a Psychologist, in various Prisons, Secure Units and in Child Protection. I supervised the Psychologists working at the infamous HMP Holloway and for many years was an expert witness for the London Courts. I currently work internationally as a Consultant Psychologist and I am also registered as a Media Productions Psychologist.
Whilst living in Asia, I had a psychological crime novel published by Monsoon. It is set in Singapore and Malaysia and is entitled ‘Straits and Narrow’. I am currently in my second year of the MA in Creative Writing and Publishing at West Dean (Sussex University). As part of this course, I am heading towards completion of a second psychological crime novel. This year, I have been listed in a writing competition and I have written plays (including a Murder Mystery) that have been staged. For many years I have acted in local theatre and am very excited at being recently cast in an Agatha Christie play.
