Alison Layland
Sub-genre: mystery, Political, psychological, Romantic, suspense
Alison Layland is a writer and translator. She has been telling herself stories for as long as she can remember and now writes them down for others to share.
She writes psychological thrillers. Her debut, Someone Else’s Conflict (2014), tells of a roving storyteller who hides a dark past, switching between the idyllic Yorkshire Dales and the gritty reality of Northern towns, with a backdrop of the 1990s war in Croatia. Her second, Riverflow (2019), is a novel of family secrets, community tensions and environmental protest, set against a backdrop of fracking and floods on the banks of the river Severn.
Raised in Newark and Bradford, Alison moved to Wales in 1997 and now lives in the beautiful border country.
