Richard Jerram embarked on a new career as a crime fiction writer after years of using his doctorate from the LSE to work as an economist in London, Tokyo and Singapore. He enjoys exploring the hidden elements of self and society which give rise to intriguing scenarios for the genre.
Richard’s first novel was written while on the UEA’s Creative Writing Crime Fiction MA course. The Makoto Murders, a noir thriller set in Tokyo, was shortlisted for the Crime Writers’ Association’s Debut Dagger award in 2024.
