Steve Hirsch is a longtime Washington journalist whose work has taken him to Europe, the (then) Soviet Union and Asia — his reporting got him banned by the previous version of the Myanmar (Burma) junta. He is currently an editor with Voice of America in Washington. His novel, The Tiger and the Bear, a thriller set in Washington, Europe — including flashbacks to the Gorbachev-era Soviet Union — and Southeast Asia has been accepted by Sunbury Press, a royalty publisher in Pennsylvania. It is expected to come out around the middle of 2025.
