Ruth Dudley Edwards is an historian, journalist and broadcaster who has written twelve satirical crime novels. Robert Amiss is the main character in the first four, after which he was joined and turned into a side-kick by Ida Troutbeck, always known as Jack. The targets of the novels include academia, the civil service, the House of Lords, the Church of England, literary prizes, political correctness, pomposity and hypocrisy. Recent short stories have appeared in Trouble is our Business and Motives for Murder and she was also a collaborator with other members of the Detection Club in The Sinking Admiral. At present she’s working on Death of a Snowflake.
Ruth won the CrimeFest Last Laugh Award for Murdering Americans (2008), the CWA Non-Fiction Gold Dagger for Aftermath: the Omagh bombings and the families’ pursuit of justice (2010) and the Goldsboro Last Laugh Award for Killing the Emperors (2013). www.ruthdudleyedwards.com
