Victoria’s debut crime novel, The Smart Woman’s Guide to Murder, was the winner of The People’s Book Prize for fiction 2020/2021. It was also In Search of the Classic Mystery’s Book of the Year 2020.

The second book in the series, Body on the Island, has been nominated for the TCK publisher’s Reader’s Choice Award 2021 and the Page Turner Book Award 2021. Book 3, The Supper Club Murders, is out this September.

Victoria is also an award winning short story writer, having won the Gothic Fiction Prize for short fiction 2019.

She was the runner up in The New Writer’s writer of the year award. Her work was Highly Commended by Writers’ Forum and long-listed for The Willesden Herald International Short Story Competition. Her short fiction has been widely published in places such as Aesthetica, BTS Literary and Arts Annual, Dream Catcher arts journal and Gold Dust Magazine. She has also had her historical fiction, The Painter of Siena, published in 2016.

Alongside her fiction work, she also writes the Adapting Agatha series which discusses various adaptations of Agatha Christie. She has spoken at many literary festivals about film, television, audio and theatre versions of Agatha Christie’s novels and is due to appear at this year’s International Agatha Christie Festival as a speaker.

After graduating from Cambridge, Victoria was a criminal law barrister on the London circuit appearing at the Old Bailey for many years, where many of her cases were much stranger than fiction.

Victoria lives with her husband and two children.
