Sarah Bax Horton is a true crime writer and researcher, who has previously served in the Lord Chancellor’s Department and Foreign Office. She read English and Modern Languages at Somerville College, University of Oxford.
Fascinated by genealogy, her discovery of a Whitechapel “H Division” police ancestor inspired her first book One-Armed Jack: Uncovering the Real Jack the Ripper, a re-examination of the Jack the Ripper case proposing a new prime suspect (2023, Michael O’Mara Books). Her second book Arm of Eve: Investigating the Thames Torso Murders identifies another serial killer active from 1887 to 1889 and is published on 17 October 2024 by The History Press.
A former volunteer with the City of London Police Casualty Bureau, she lives in South West London.
