Frank Barnard

Sub-genre: , ,

Frank Barnard took to fiction writing in 2000 after retiring from advertising & PR as European Chairman of US owned global communications network Fleishman-Hillard. Previously he was a board director at Shandwick, managing director at Burson-Marsteller UK and also a newspaperman.

Frank wrote his first novel at 18 (unpublished), contributed TV scripts to ATV’s Armchair Theatre and was an active journalist. He was a regular contributor to Richard Ingrams’ Oldie and created Hyphen Jones, a weekly cartoon strip that ran for years in PR Week under the pseudonym Charlie Allen. With four published novels behind him he is working on the fifth, a change of style, a contemporary tale of the supernatural set on Romney Marsh.

A weekend racing driver since the 1960s he is probably the only novelist to compete in the Formula Ford Festival and once raced against James Hunt. Frank regularly sails off the Sussex coast. He has been married for over 50 years with two daughters and four grandchildren.
