Glenda Young has a book deal with publisher Headline to write cosy crimes. The books were shortlisted with Richard Osman and Val McDermid for Best New Crime Series in the category of New Kid on the Block at the Dead Good Readers’ Awards at Harrogate Crime Festival.

Her first cosy crime Murder at the Seaview Hotel set in the Yorkshire seaside town of Scarborough stars 12 Elvis impersonators, called Twelvis. When one of them ends up dead with his blue suede shoes stolen, hotel landlady Helen Dexter and her rescue greyhound Suki are on the case to solve the crime.

The second in the series (although you can read it as a stand alone book) is Curtain Call at the Seaview HotelIt’s set again in Scarborough and stars an acting troupe who arrive to rehearse a play they hope will save a much-loved theatre. There’s a lot riding on this play. However, the leading lady is a diva, the playwright is highly strung and tensions in the troupe are high. Then one of the actors is found dead on the beach.
