Emma Melville
Sub-genre: Fantasy, mystery, Supernatural, suspense
As well as being a maths teacher in a special school (very few people have to teach GCSE maths in braille), Emma is author of the Inspector Marshall Mysteries series of books. These mix police procedural with a touch of magic and originally, after many years of watching crime dramas, stemmed from the question ‘what if the forensics proved that the killer actually did walk out through the wall’ and went from there. In her spare time, Emma is involved with a lot of morris and folk dancing and plays the piano accordion so folk music influences her stories – both Inspector Marshall and her many fantasy short stories.
