Antony Dunford

Antony Dunford is a crime writer from Bradford in West Yorkshire. He went to university in York, then in York again, then in Cambridge, then St Albans, and finally Norwich. He has worked in IT project management for more than 20 years, which has proved an excellent background for his series of thrillers set in Africa dealing with wildlife crime and conservation. His debut novel, Hunted, was published by Hobeck Books on 26th January 2021. It was shortlisted for the UEA Little, Brown award, and long listed for the Grindstone Literary Prize and the CWA John Creasey New Blood dagger. Born the Same, the prequel to Hunted, was published in May 2023. He is currently working on the sequel, Endangered.
Other Awards
Hunted was shortlisted for the 2019 UEA Crime Writing prize by Little, Brown. It was long listed for the Grindstone literary prize. And, according to Dea Parkin of the CWA, came ‘very close’ to being long listed for the 2020 Debut Dagger. Needless to say he rewrote it as a result to make it better.
The opening section of Endangered was shortlisted for the 2020 First Pages Prize awarded by the American Library of Paris.
