M J Lee
Sub-genre: Historical, Procedural
Martin writes both contemporary and historical crime series.
His contemporary work is set in Manchester and features DI Ridpath, a detective temporarily assigned to the coroner’s court, published by Canelo.
His historical crime novels are the Danilov series set in the Shanghai of the 1920s and 1930s, featuring Inspector Danilov, a White Russian employed by the Shanghai Municipal Police. In addition, he also writes a series of Genealogical Mysteries, featuring a investigative genealogist, Jayne Sinclair.
When he’s not writing, Martin splits his time between the UK and Asia, plays with his daughter, single-handedly tries to solve the problem of the French wine lake, and wishes he were George Clooney.
