Zoë Sharp opted out of mainstream education at the age of twelve and wrote her first novel at fifteen. She became a freelance photojournalist in 1988 and wrote the first of her highly acclaimed crime thrillers featuring her ex-Special Forces turned bodyguard heroine, Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Fox after receiving death-threat letters in the course of her work.
Sharp has been nominated for numerous awards in the United States, as well as twice for the CWA Short Story Dagger. The Charlie Fox series has been optioned for TV, and other of her work has been turned into short films and used in European school text books. The latest installment in the Charlie Fox series is Bad Turn. As well as her series novels, she has also written a standalone mystery thriller, The Blood Whisperer, featuring another strong female protagonist, ex-CSI turned crime-scene cleaner Kelly Jacks, and a joint novella with espionage thriller writer, John Lawton, called An Italian Job. Her latest book is Bones In The River, the second in the new Lakes crime thriller series after Dancing On The Grave and featuring CSI Grace McColl and Detective Nick Weston.
Sharp blogs regularly, both on her own website as well as the group blog Murder Is Everywhere, as well as posting on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, where she posts mainly silly jokes and pictures and refuses to take life too seriously.
