Nick Rippington is an award-winning author of gangland and psychological thrillers.
The first novel in his Boxer Boys series Crossing the Whitewash, a UK gangland thriller based in London and Cardiff, introduces the 4-book Boxer Boys series and received an honourable mention in the genre category in the Writer’s Digest 2016 self-published eBook awards. Judges describing it as “Evocative, unique, unfailingly precise and often humorous”.
The prequel Spark Out, the second novel in the Boxer Boys series, goes back to where it all began and features Dolan patriarch Big Mo and his brother Clive, who joins the Scots Guards and is sent to fight in the Falkland Islands. It was released in July 2017 at the Books Go Social Dublin Writers’ Conference, winning a readers’ award from Chill With A Book and an IndieBrag Medallion. Readers felt it was “compelling” with an “unexpected twist”.
The final book in the trilogy Dying Seconds, continues the gangland saga from Book One. It topped the Amazon free chart for Contemporary Urban Fiction during an initial giveaway with 350 downloads in two days. It also hit the top 20 in the Contemporary Urban Fiction category for paid-for titles. The most recent release in the gangland series Bare Lies came out at the end of last year and involves two gang members fleeing to Spain after an attack on a rival gang has disastrous consequences.
Since Bare Lies was released Nick has signed up with new publishing company Red Dragon Publishing which will release his standalone psychological thriller Rabette Run this year together with a four-book Boxer Boys boxset.
A former Welsh sports editor of the News of the World, Nick is an assistant production editor on the Daily Star sports desk. He is married to Liz and has two daughters. He lives in Suffolk.
