Fred Petford is retired and lives in Somerset. The last twenty years of his working life were spent writing copy for Disney and other global businesses. His first book The Ghosts of Passchendaele is a supernatural crime thriller set in a remote Cotswold village at the end of the First World War. It’s been described as ‘Downton Abbey with ghosts!’ and is based on an astonishing true story discovered in the Commonwealth War Graves Commission archives. It was published at the end of 2021. A sequel, The Death of Conscience, followed this year and the plan is to complete the trilogy in 2023.
