Chris McGillion
Sub-genre: mystery
After careers in journalism and journalism education I turned to writing crime novels to weave interests in history, philosophy and anthropology into stories that unlock unique locations to a general audience. Since 2010 I have been a regular visitor to East Timor where I have been engaged in media development and agricultural communication. My latest novel – The Sand Digger’s Skull – is the second book in the East Timor Crime Series for Coffeetown Press (US). The books pit modern policing methods against traditional beliefs in demons, witchcraft, ancestral spirits, and animal totems still strongly held in different parts of the country.
