J.G. Harlond (Jane) writes page-turning historical crime stories set in the mid-seventeenth and early twentieth centuries in Britain, Europe and beyond. Each novel weaves fictional characters into real events, meaning a great deal of research has to be carried out before writing can begin. Jane is particularly interested in aspects of power and skulduggery – international intrigue and domestic politics are significant elements in her novels.
Having now finished The Chosen Man Trilogy (Penmore Press), in which the Genoese merchant and secret agent Ludo da Portovenere makes mischief in Europe and India between 1634 and 1644, Jane is currently working on a series about the reluctant, once-retired Detective Sergeant Bob Robbins during World War II to follow on from the murder-mystery Local Resistance.
Originally from the Devon, Jane has lived in a variety of different countries and is now settled in rural Andalucía, Spain.
