Jill Amadio is an author, biographer, ghostwriter, and award-winning journalist. She has published 15 books, both fiction and non-fiction. Her debut crime novel Digging Too Deep: A Tosca Trevant Mystery, 2014, is the first in a series set in California and introducing an amateur sleuth from St. Ives, Cornwall, Amadio’s childhood home. Her second in the series is Digging Up the Dead, 2016.
Amadio ghostwrote a true crime and a crime novel. She co-authored My Vagabond Lover: Rudy Vallee, and is the author of the bestselling biography, Gunther Rall: Luftwaffe Ace and NATO General. Born and educated in England, Amadio worked for the Sunday Dispatch/Daily Mail, London. She was a reporter for the Bangkok Post, Thailand, Gannett Newspapers, New York, and freelanced for the Washington Times, D.C., and the Westport News, Connecticut. She was an investigative reporter for the Connecticut Sunday Herald. She has also written for Conde Nast, Newsweek, the Los Angeles Times, Air Classics, and Asian Symphony Magazine.
She is a panelist and moderator at writers’ conferences including Left Coast Crime, the Surrey International Writers Conference, Ladies of Intrigue, and others and was the founding president of the Connecticut Women’s Press Club. Amadio is a member of Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, The Authors Guild, The Biographers Organization, and the Cornish-American Heritage Society. She lives in Dana Point where Tosca Trevant cusses in Cornish and brews tongue-curling mead.
